The Worl Bank Office Jakarta is searching for outstanding individuals to fill the position of
Research Analyst (1 position) – Code : RA
Term appointment for 1 year

The Jakarta-based Research Analyst (RA) will work under the supervision of several economists in the Public Finance and Regional Development team of the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management (PREM) unit. The Public Finance and regional Development team has three core work streams : (i) decentralization analysis and sub-national database management; (ii) Public Expenditure Analysis (PEA) at the national and sub-national levels; and (iii) reconstruction management and financing. The RA will provide substantive research and analytical assistance in these three work streams.
Specific responsibilities will include :
  • Leading and/or co-leading the analysis and implementation of Public Expenditure Analysis at the national and sub-national levels.
  • Leading and/or co-leading the analysis and implementation of sectoral Public Expenditure Analysis.
  • Working closely with The World Bank’s senior economists on decentralization and public finance rellated research.
  • Maintaining and updating the growing sub-national database to include a range of both economic and non-economic data.

The RA should have the following qualifications :

  • Minimum of M.A. in Economics or related discipline.
  • More than two years of relevant working experience.
  • Excellent knowledge on decentralization and public finance in Indonesia.
  • Excellent data skills and familiarity with stastitical methods and standard econometric software packages, especially STATA.
  • Excellent knowledge of principal sources and retrieval systems of economic and social development data.
  • Experience in using large scale quantitative survey data.
  • Experience in production of major reports and/or programs with particular focus on public expenditure reviews and post-disaster financing.
  • Fluency in English and good writing skills.
  • An excellent team worker who can also work independently and is self-motivated.
